IntroductionThe HiruMed 'C-Quel' (formerly C-Quel) software is an intelligent laboratory data management system that offers stand alone features. It assists the laboratory in the collection, collation and management of data generated from the analysis of clinical material. System OverviewThe HiruMed 'C-Quel' system is designed to run on a standard personal computer (PC), with minimal system requirements of a Pentium processor, 8 MB RAM and 200 MB hard disk capability. HiruMed 'C-Quel' can interface up to four serial systems into a single PC, and this can be cascaded across a network. An additional communications card may be required if you wish to extend the number of communication ports to four. The integration with clinical analysers provides a broad assay menu independent of laboratory discipline. It improves productivity and accuracy by eliminating the need for manual transcription of results, although this method of data entry is fully supported. HiruMed 'C-Quel' has been designed to function as both a data concentrator for laboratory instruments, and a stand alone system for sites that have no LIS capability.
